Oil Boiler Servicing

Oil boilers burners rely on producing a fine mist in order to ignite. The burner nozzle is precision made but with time kerosene wears the jet and as a result will cause the mist to degrade and oil does not ignite completely causing sooting in the boiler. This soot not only smells but  starts to clog up the boiler combustion chamber and accelerates the degradation. To prevent this we replace the nozzle every service as  a matter of course. In addition the oil flexible hoses supplying the boiler also degrade  and are replaced with Bio Fuel Flexis  if required. The combustion chamber is checked for debris and if necessary, cleaned out with combustion settings checked and adjusted where required. Regular servicing of Oil boilers is essential.

Oil Tanks

Most oil tanks are made of plastic and require to be located on a solid base that has 300mm border all around from the tank to prevent any vegetation disturbance to the tank. It is also important that the base is located at the correct distances away from boundaries, dwelling openings or inflammable material. We are happy to advise positioning of an oil tank in relation to the above according to the OFTEC regulations.

Certain locations may require the tank to be Bunded as security against any leaks into water courses or drains.

If a tank is not situated correctly and maybe on an uneven surface it can split with  disastrous consequences. Further information can be found on the OFTEC website by clicking on the Logo at the foot of this page.

Gordon and Gary installed our oil fired boiler 4 years ago and every year since have serviced it. They are a first rate company. Debby sends an email every year letting us know when service is due. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The work is first class.

Gordon was so flexible, fitting in to my timescale and so patient with my questions and worries. He did the work while I was away and kept me informed of progress. So professional and helpful as I chose type, model etc. Came home to warm house and no mess and he was there next morning to show me how everything worked.
