Radiators to Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating (UFH) can be laid in several ways. To convert an existing radiator system to underfloor heating, this can be achieved by laying 20mm overlay boards directly onto the existing floorboards as per the photograph shown below. Flooring can then be laid directly on top, carpets can also be laid after a duo board totalling 6mm  is put down directly. Perfect for renovations avoiding the very expensive concrete system. Each room has its own control producing an even and comfortable heat without walls being taken up with radiators.

Underfloor Heating

Perfect for Renewable Heating

Due to the lower heating input of 35-40 degrees underfloor is the perfect partner to Air Source Heat Pumps.

Underfloor heating

Ideal for renovations

The overlay boards are made of crushed polystyrene and have an aluminium 400micron thick covering. This provides a superb insulating factor and reduces the heat loss considerably if you have existing drafts floorboards, alternatively if your house has a concrete base then again the flooring can be laid directly on top. Why not go a step further and consider the installation of a renewable heat source such as an Air Source Heat Pump.

Gordon was so flexible, fitting in to my timescale and so patient with my questions and worries. He did the work while I was away and kept me informed of progress. So professional and helpful as I chose type, model etc. Came home to warm house and no mess and he was there next morning to show me how everything worked. I can’t thank him enough and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending G R Heating to my friends.

Gordon and Gary installed our oil fired boiler 4 years ago and every year since have serviced it. They are a first rate company. Debby sends an email every year letting us know when service is due. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The work is first class.
